Main room (3 +’s)
The top end of our main room is used mostly for our 3 years plus children, we use this room for a range of planned activities and stations to enhance play provision and gain knowledge and understanding through play. Our main play room is designed for children to have a safe and happy play environment, where they are able to engage with their friends and staff members. Our main play room is filled with toys, books, arts and crafts for all ages and abilities to enjoy and makes children’s time at our nursery fun, educated and stimulating.
Main room (2-3's)
This bottom end of our Main play room is mainly used for our 2-3 year old children, we use this end of the room for a range of activities including messy play, painting, colouring and sensory play. We have a circle time area for children to relax and enjoy reading or listening to our books. We aim for children to have a happy, healthy fun experience in the bottom end of our play room.
Sleep / Sensory Room
Our sleep room is made for any children at our setting that have a nap throughout their day at nursery, it is made up of 3 cots for younger children and also has pull out sleeping mats for any older children. This room has a calm and soothing feel to it so it is comfortable for children to fall asleep. As well as a sleeping area we also have a sensory mat for children to chill out before they go to sleep and also for any children that may feel overwhelmed in the day, it is a place for them to sit and play with our sensory toys and have time to themselves.
Toddler Room (0-18 months)
This is our toddler room which is mainly used for our toddlers who are 0-18 months old. This room is usually a quiet room where our younger toddlers are able to play freely using their own choices of toys and activities. As well as free play there are also planned activities for the toddlers such as messy sensory play, musical instruments, colouring with crayons, painting with their hands and feet and many more. We have high chairs in our toddler room for food and snack times and a small table and chairs for our older toddlers to use. Our aim for our toddler room is for toddlers to enjoy their time at nursery learning and growing through play.
Outdoor / Surrounding areas
We’ve got a huge outdoor play area laid to lawn incorporating flowers and a vegetable patch. We’ve got a range of outdoor toys for your child to build their confidence in an outdoor environment. All children take part in planting, growing flowers and vegetables. We’re very lucky to have a nursery so close to the sea, with villages, parks and farms nearby. This gives us the opportunity to go on local trips to areas such as Merthyr Mawr Nature Reserve, Margam Park, Ogmore and Southerndown beaches for the children to experience and gain knowledge of the surrounding areas.
